What is the background and purpose of the walk?
The Caleb Tate Fuller Foundation was established to fulfill a small boy’s request to not be forgotten during a heart wrenching battle with bone cancer. The family desires to honor this request and preserve his memory by commemorating his steadfast love of God and family and relentless passion for life and learning by serving the spiritual, social and educational need of other children.

Where do proceeds for the Foundation go?

All work done by the Caleb Tate Fuller Fundation is on a volunteer basis.

Funds raised at charitable walks that the Forget-Me-Knot Team is participating in will go to the respective charity.  Donations made directly to the Caleb Tate Fuller Foundation directly will be used for community programs for kids that are hosted by the Caleb Tate Fuller Foundation.

Events for the 2011-12 year include a free Mad Cap Puppet show, a free Mad Science Event, a ten week Money Matters Financial literacy course for middle school age kids, training for training in the Darkness to Light child sexual abuse prevention, scholarships to Cincinnati area Christian schools grades K-12 and book scholarships for college bound students from Norwood High School in Norwood , Ohio.  Funds from the charitable walks in which the “Forget-Me-Knot” Team participates will assist Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with funds for cancer and hematology research, the American Cancer Society and StarShine Hospice. Contributions have also been made toward Juvenile Arthritis, and Ohio Special Olympics for Special Needs Kids.

Why Walk?
Caleb had a passion for life and learning and enjoyed raising money for his school through the yearly walk-a-thon. Even during intense treatment for his cancer, the idea of getting to participate in the walk inspired and motivated him to do his best at treatment and therapy and to look past his own illness to help others. Caleb was the top fund raiser for his school only a few months prior to his passing. He was so inspired to participate in the walk that he left the hospital only two days after lung surgery going straight to the event. Walking in memory of Caleb seems very appropriate.
